Thanksgiving stock up!

@ Your Library

by Beverly Ewart

Although Thanksgiving will look a bit different during a pandemic, we are still thankful, and we will still celebrate!  CFL will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 25, 26, & 27, to honor the occasion.  Visit us via curbside and stock up for the holiday!

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your upbeat attitude and patience. Although we had to be closed earlier in the year due to a State mandate, and, since then have only been open for curbside delivery, you have encouraged us by hanging in there with us, and we APPRECIATE it!  We do miss seeing you in person, but we’ve had some delightful phone-conversations and curbside interactions that have reinforced how essential it feels to have library services available.

Join us Tuesdays in the month of November as CFL pairs with WPBS to sponsor local storytelling and writing workshops as part of the American Portrait Initiative. These short, virtual workshops are a great way to bolster your work as part of November’s annual National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

Each workshop has a different prompt, and participants are welcome to attend one or all.

Everyone has a story to tell. Join WPBS and our partners at NCLS and Jefferson CCE for “Lunch & Life” – workshops that use the American Portrait initiative to help you tell YOUR story, discover your personal narrative, and become a better storyteller. Workshops start November 3rd and are held every Tuesday from 12PM to 12:30PM.

Week 1: You, Presently

Looking at your current situation with a focus on emotion to find your story. Sometimes the present is all you need!

Week 2: Working Hard or Hardly Working

A look at what we do for work, what we consider our work to be, and how it impacts our stories – Work is a major theme of your life!

Week 3: American Dreams

Searching for your American Dream using the important moments of your life, or your Life Markers

Week 4: Fears, Faith, & Future

Conveying your message – your fears, your hopes, and your dreams of the future – whether orally or through word relies on the power you put behind your message.

Each event is FREE, but you must REGISTER in advance.
